Chris and Ashley (Larsen) Bernard

WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO
SINCE HIGH SCHOOL
A lot has happened in our lives since we graduated good old Emery High...Chris joined the Army Reserves during our senior year and as soon as we graduated, he was off to Basic Training for the summer. Meanwhile, Ashlie went to CEU cosmetology, and we were married a little while later.

A lot has happened in our lives since we graduated good old Emery High...Chris joined the Army Reserves during our senior year and as soon as we graduated, he was off to Basic Training for the summer. Meanwhile, Ashlie went to CEU cosmetology, and we were married a little while later. Chris's unit was deployed, but luckily only made it as far as Colorado Springs, CO so we moved out there for about seven months, and found out we were expecting our first baby. We then moved back to good old Emery County, Castle Dale to be exact to begin our little family.

Chris started a new at Joy Mining in Wellington, as a welder, and thanks to his insane work ethic, he moved up quite quickly. He is now their CMM operator and he is only 25! We had our second child in the summer of 2006, so now we have 2 beautiful daughters. Chris is now a Drill Sergent based out of Fort Douglas, and is now in the process of moving to the Special Forces. Ashlie is a stay at home mom, and loving every minute...all though she is about to pop because we are expecting our third baby in January. We still happily live in Castle Dale and we plan on being here for a very long time...

Terrence and Laura (Pabst) Mills

WHAT WE HAVE BEEN UP TO SINCE HIGH SCHOOL

After two years of having a long distance relationship, Terrence and I were married on June 6, 2003 in the Manti temple. We spent our honeymoon moving Terrence to Denver where he started working for Savage Services in Boulder and I worked as a department manager at Michaels craft store. We both worked full time and I went to school, graduating from my program in May. We welcomed our first little girl Kylie into our family on September 2004 (about 2 1/2 years earlier than the original plan). In April of 2006, Terrence was given the opportunity to transfer job locations to New Orleans, Louisiana. He moved to the deep south to work at the Valero oil refinery as a Lead Safety Specialist and Kylie and I joined him 5 weeks later. We LOVED the experience of living there. Our little Kylie even started to develop a southern accent. We made a lot of great friends, got to experience Mardi Gras and learned how to cook like the locals. Our sweet little Madison was born in Baton Rouge in January of 2007, but she didn't get to experience the south for long. Terrence finally decided what he wanted to be when he grew up, and there was no way on earth I would send my girls to school in the Louisiana school systems, so...we made the most bold and daring choice of our lives. In August of 2007 Terrence ended his employment with Savage and we spent the next two months apart while Terrence moved to Utah to look for jobs and enroll in school. He is now working full-time for Schreiber foods in Logan, Utah while going to school (yes, also full-time) at USU majoring in mechanical/aerospace engineering. Right now, I get to stay home and focus all of my time on being a mom to two pretty amazing girls. When the time is right, I will get to go back to school and further my career. Terrence and I are still each others best friends. We have an amazing relationship and spend any free time we have outdoors. Life is pretty chaotic most of the time, but we definately have fun in the midst of it all!

Max Thatcher

What I've been Up to Since High School

Well, as most of you know, I left High School my senior year and went out on my own and moved to Montana. Anaconda, MT to be exact. I enrolled at the Job Corps up there because I knew that I wasn't doing so well in regular high school and needed a little bit of a change. I spent about a year and a half up there and if anyone knows anything about Job Corps, you go there to get your GED and also a trade. I majored in Business, and Heavy Equipment/Semi Truck Maintenance. (Yes, the Max Thatcher that roamed the halls of high school in a suit and tie, majored in that. Don't worry, I found it strange as well.) My intuitions were right about doing better up there than in high school. I graduated with a 3.8 GPA.

After graduating Job Corps, I moved back down to the EC and ultimately, moved down to Farmington, New Mexico with Jeffery Behling to pursue my Mortuary career. After doing what I loved for 2 1/2 years, I moved once again back to the EC and thought I could easily find a job up there. Wrongo Bongo. I then one more time moved up to the Salt Lake City area, (as so many of us do) and worked in a Hotel for a while as the Night Auditor, while going to school during the day to get my Commerical Driver's License, strictly as a fall back career, never thinking I would use it.

While working at the hotel, I found "The love of my life" and after about a year of her pushing to get married, Max decided that being married is NOT for him let alone being in a relationship. We then went our seperate ways.

The Hotel got slow, so low and behold, I had to use that little plastic thing in my wallet to feed my belly. After overcoming a brief illness, I have finally settled back down and got back into my groove in this semi truck. I currently work for James H. Clark and Son Trucking out of Murray, UT, and I dont think I have ever been treated so well by an employer in my whole life. We run Refrigerated freight, mainly the 11 westen states, and occasionaly we run out to Georgia and Tennessee and then straight back. While typing this I am currently sitting in Ontario, CA waiting to get unloaded in the morning.

Just a few words before I close: Trucking is not what anyone, including myself, thought that I would be doing with my life, however, the wonderful thing about this beautiful, wide open, limit-less country is, we are free to choose, and make our decisions about how we shape our future. My advice to everyone is, never, never, never give up on your dreams, no matter how far-fetched they may seem. If you have children, or are planning on having children, teach them well, and let them know how wonderful and special they are each and everyday. Let them know that in order to succeed in this life, they must be the best they can be, and to please, please stay in school. It will make their quest in life so much easier. You can take a look at my blog at http://www.truckmax.blogspot.com/ and if anyone would like to get in touch with me, my contact information is on the blog, as well as on Facebook.
Thanks again.

LuAnn (Roundy) Powell

What I've Been Up To Since High School

Life is definitely a lot different than it was in the good ol' days living in Emery County.

After high school I went to CEU and lived in Sessions! It was a lot of fun and I made a lot of good friends. Next, I was on to BYU where I earned my bachelors in MFHD. I lived in the University Villa and loved it! When I wasn't studying I was playing with friends up provo canyon, hiking to the Y, hot tubbing or watching movies. After graduating from BYU I promptly went to selling drugs for Wal-Mart for about 2 years. The pharmacy there was fun but wanting to switch things up I moved up to Salt Lake and started working for the U in the Redwood Pharmacy. I loved all the people I got to meet while I worked in the pharmacy (even a few of the crazy druggies!) and it was a great job to have while I worked on my master's degree. After graduating in '02 (high school!) '03 (CEU) '04 (BYU) I decided to slow things down and didn't finish up my master's degree until '08. I got my masters in psychology from USU and then decided I wanted to go to pharmacy school. After about a semester of 6-8 hours a night of homework I decided that sticking to counseling was a great idea!

I got a job as a school counselor in Escalante UT (another EHS - Escalante High School) - which is kind of by Panguitch and Bryce Valley. It was an incredible learning experience being the counselor of 100 kids grades 7-12 in a town of 800 people but I decided that living in the middle of no-where (Emery County is a busting metropolis compared to Escalante...) was not my favorite thing. Luckily I got hired as a counselor through UVU at East High School in Salt Lake. Sticking with EHS - East High School has worked pretty good for me so far. I went from a school with around 15 kids per grade to a high school with 500-600 students per grade. I love working at East because I have a lot of amazing kids.

Another cool change that happened since high school is that I met and married my best friend. My name is now LuAnn Powell and my husband's name is Jonathan. He just graduated from the UofU in film studies. He is an animator and will be applying for internships with Disney, Pixar, Dream Works and other companies this fall. It has been so fun to help him make his animations and see how much work goes into making both computer generated and 2D cartoons. When we aren't working we like to play guitar hero/rock band, watch movies, go swimming and read books together. We just bought our first home in Salt Lake and I love it!

Andrea Cox

What I've been up to since High School

Well, a whole lot of MORE school. Bwahahaha... ha... ha.. cricket chirp. Since graduating from EHS, I've ALSO graduated from Snow College and the University of Utah (Go Utes!). I done studied the English (in honor of Mrs. Wakefield naturally) and the French (in honor of Coach Dean); getting my secondary English teaching license (in honor of JR) of which I used for about 2 months at a Charter School in Salem, Utah until they laid us all off. Good times in 2007. Stupid 2007. I did a study abroad in London for 2 months in there somewhere, and after a smattering of failed job attempts and even more attempts at fleeing the country again, I finally work at Utah System of Higher Education in downtown SLC and plan on going back for yes, you guessed it, more education at the University of Utah this Fall 2009. Gonna get ye olde MPA (Masters in Public Administration) and get paid to boss people around, rock political boats, rally for education reform, and generally save the world from our apathetic selves. That's the plan anyway - but most things don't tend to go as planned. I guess there in lies the rub.

Hmmm. Not married. Thanks for wondering so loud. I could hear it all the way from here. Sheesh. Not dating at the moment - aaaaaand really - not too worried about it yet... or still. Whichever. I don't feel I need to tell all of you, my dear friends, about me because I am still me and you know me. Me me. Me. Planet-me. But I still read. I still write. I play the sports and have recently gotten into Ultimate Frisbee a good deal. I made a chalkboard the other day so lets go ahead and say I "craft" and I actually have acquired a joy for cooking. So there's a domestic habit to be amused by. Oh! I've got something! I have a cat. There ya go! She is called Lila. You've now confirmed the image of me in your head of "Oh that Andrea Cox... I always knew she'd go into education and come out the crazy hippie cat lady who shops with cloth bags and uses such phrases as "rally for education reform" and "Free Tibet." She prolly voted for Obama too (Yes, I can.. or did, rather)." Well... I'd hate to disappoint you... so go ahead and hang on to that image. It's pretty accurate I guess - though I want you to know I don't own a Prius... not yet.

Rock on 2002.

WHAT I'VE BEEN UP TO SINCE HIGH SCHOOL

Well I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life after high school, so I did what anyone else would do who wasn't sure, I went to college. I moved to Price to go to CEU (duh) and over the course of two years there I lived with Chad Bingham, Matt Beatty, Spencer Westwood, Max Thatcher, Daniel Farr, Tim Arnold, Mark Olsen, Sam Lloyd, Jessie VanWagoner and possibly some others that I can't remember. Needless to say I was in good Emery County company.

While attending CEU I was arrested for stealing computers, although it sounds so much worse than it really was. Mostly it was a misunderstanding, well sort of. Anyway, I graduated from CEU with an Associate in Science and moved to Orem to go to UVU.

So at the age of 21 I had finally realized I wanted to do Film. I pursued a degree in Digital Media/Film and graduated with my Bachelors in December of 2008. I have worked on two Disney Films (Halloween Town, and High School Musical 2), along with this I have also worked on many other projects for local businesses. I am currently working for a company called Blufrog in Provo. We make commercials, Dvd's, Web Videos, Documentaries and pretty much anything else people want us to make. Most recently I was the Project Manager for an upcoming documentary about a local charity organization called “In Our Own Quiet Way” who raises money for children in Kenya Africa.

So here I am 5 years+ after high school working as a camera man/editor/photographer and I am loving it. Time isn't slowing down, rather it seems to be speeding up. I very much enjoy small city living, although I still love the outdoors and the “Emery way of life”. Who knows what the next 5 years will bring, but I hope it's as productive as the last. Maybe I should concentrate on getting married? Lol ;)

Sheremy (Curtis) McEvoy

WHAT I'VE BEEN UP TO SINCE HIGH SCHOOL

After high school I moved to Price and started at CEU. I also started working at the Holiday Inn where I met Robert McEvoy. Robert was also attending CEU and from Price. We dated while we worked our way through college. Robert proposed while we were at work. So we became engaged November 2004. We graduated the following May (2005) and got married two weeks latter and three months latter we moved to Logan so that Robert could get his bachelors degree.

I worked full time while Robert worked on his degree. The following March (2006) we found out I was pregnant. After a trying pregnancy and a week over due (December 7 2006) I gave birth to our son Logan Keith.

After six days in the New Born Intensive Care Unit, we finally got to bring him home. His the the joy of our lives. We think he has the funnest personality. He definitely keeps us going. The following May Robert Graduated from USU and three months latter we moved to SLC were he started working with Pacificorp as a Electrical Engineer.

I have been a stay at home mom. Last August we bought our first house. We are in West Valley and trying to decide what we are going to do with our yard. So now we are hoping that before Logan starts school we will be able to find a job back down south.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO SINCE HIGH SCHOOL?

After High School I moved to Price and went to CEU for a year. Then I moved to Kaysville while I took some classes at Weber. In 2004 I left to serve a mission in San Diego, California, Spanish speaking. The majority of my mission was in a small city named Brawley. Average temperature in the summer: 110 degrees. It was hot.

When I got home from my mission I moved to St. George (Jan 2007) where I met Karlee Larson. She introduced herself, invited herself hot tubing at my apartment and basically told me to ask her out. We've been together ever since. She's the love of my life.We became engaged in June 2007 and were married in the St. George Temple in September, 2007.

We lived in Provo during our engagement and for a month after our wedding then moved back down to St. George to work. In July 2008 we moved to Salt Lake City. I currently work as an Engineering tech. with the FAA and attend school at the University of Utah for E.E.

When I'm not at work I can be found at the gym. My wife is going to SLCC for their cosmetology program and works at a Law Firm. She's getting into Photography a lot and can't wait to finish school. We're hoping to get back to Ferron after I graduate. My wife's very anxious to have babies and settle down.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO SINCE HIGH SCHOOL?
After High School I moved to Price and started the cosmetology program at CEU. After finishing that I began to get my degree in early childhood education. I met the love of my life Carter in 2003 and we were married in 2005. We are living in Elmo and are surrounded by his family, which we love for the most part.

We built our home in 2006 and moved in just before little Harlee was welcomed into our family. I am very lucky to be a stay at home mom for the most part. My in laws own elderly housing apartments in Elmo which I manage and I also am the cheer adviser for Canyon View Jr. High.

After being married 2 years we were blessed with our little angel, Born Jan 26, 2007 6lbs. 1/2oz.
Harlee is the light in our lives and being the only child she is very spoiled by everyone. She is beginning to be a smart little whip she counts to 15 with no help and also says her ABC's with very little help. She acts a lot like her aunt and is very loud like most of our Hansen Family. This was her first year of dance and I am happy to say that she LOVES every minute of it. She loves to be outside and spend time at the farm with her daddy, she has just recently gotten 2 bummer lambs that she is now bottle feeding.

If you would like to check out our blog send me an email Bre_Robinson@hotmail.com and I will send out an invite.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO SINCE HIGH SCHOOL?
After graduating in 2002, I moved to Snow College. That fall I met Justin Thornley from Tremonton. We were engaged the next July, and got married January 16, 2004. We transferred up to Utah State University to continue our education there. I started into the Special Education Program and Justin started into the Agricultural Education Program. In the fall of 2005, I student taught in a 6th/7th grade resource classroom. The day of graduation we welcomed our first little boy, Easton, into our family. I was actually in labor while all my classmates were at the University walking! Justin continued to go to USU and I was a stay at home mom. In January of 2007 we moved to Fillmore, Utah and Justin completed his student teaching at Millard High. We hoped that we would be able to move to back to Emery and live permanently but it didn't happen that way. Justin accepted a job in Clearfield, teaching agriculture at Clearfield High!! Big shocker, teaching Ag. to city kids! In October of 2007 we had our 2nd boy, Mason. While in Clearfield we were still holding out hope to be able to move back to Emery, and we were ecstatic when a job opened at Carbon High. (I know, I know). Justin hurried and applied and luckily got the job. So once again we packed up and moved. Justin started their new agriculture program there, and is enjoying it! I soon was offered a teaching position at Emery High teaching resource. I only teach 3 periods a day, but I absolutely love it! I worried about teaching High School students, but it is actually okay. The wierd thing is working with my old teachers, and not calling them Mr. or Mrs.! Easton is now 3 and Mason is almost 19 months. They are both out of control! We are currently living with my parents, and are starting to build a house. :)

Tasha (Behling) Bradford

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO SINCE HIGH SCHOOL?

After high school I moved to Price where I graduated from CEU in Business Information Systems and worked for Office ETC. After life in Price I moved to Orem where I worked as an office manager for a local dentist. I met Scott Bradford from Sandy, UT in April of '04 after he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Managua, Nicaragua. We dated for 8 months and were engaged by Christmas! We were married 2 1/2 months later on March 12, 2005 in Manti, Utah.

Scott and I moved to Murray, UT while he continued his education at the University of Utah. I was working as an Office Coordinator for Flint Oral and Facial Surgery. We relocated closer to the University in 2006 and have been here ever since. I also found a job closer to the UofU- working for the University of Utah Hospital where I am currently employed.

January 17, 2008 we welcomed our beautiful daughter Brookelle! She is now 15 1/2 months old and getting so "grown up". After having Brookelle I've continued working for the hospital from home which both 'Kelle and I love!
We are HUGE fans of the University of Utah and enjoy going to football and basketball games (and I drag Scottie to as many volleyball games as possible).
We are still enjoying our perfect season! GO UTES!After Scottie graduates (next Friday!) with his Masters degree in Accounting we will relocate to Phoenix, AZ where he will continue his employment with KPMG. We are looking forward to snowless winters and scorching summers :)
